Neighbourhood Houses are unique, there is no such thing as a typical neighbourhood house, and ours is no exception. We exist to respond to the diverse needs of our own community, and ensure we provide a welcoming inclusive space for everyone to participate in.

Social inclusion improves wellbeing, and we aim to provide opportunities for all ages and abilities to gather and share skills, stories, friendship and events. Our mission includes bringing local people together and encouraging their contribution to growing our community connectedness through a range of social, educational, support and recreational activities.

Our mission includes enabling people in the community to lead this initiative. We encourage membership of the Sunbury Neighbourhood House to ensure a broad and diverse input into our plans for the future. As a community we can identify our own unique needs, and respond to them using our creativity, skills and resources together.

We are one of approximately 400 Neighbourhood Houses in Victoria, and are part of the local Hume network of houses. We work collaboratively with Goonawarra neighbourhood house, and you will often see us together running events in Sunbury. We love collaboration, and enjoy our partnerships with Sunbury Community Health, Macedon Ranges Further Education Centre, Homestead Community and Learning Centre, local businesses and other organisations in our region.

None of this would be possible without the generous support of DHHS and Hume City Council, plus sponsorship and welcomed donations from our community. We highly value the contribution of our team of volunteers, who consistently provide programs, support and hospitality that make Sunbury Neighbourhood House a welcoming place.

Our mission includes creating a sustainable approach to everything we do, considering the natural environment around us, and how we can reduce waste, and maintain resources together. We seek to share this and consider the future needs for our neighbourhood.

Sunbury Neighbourhood House has been committed to community development since 1996. An independent not for profit, we are a small team of part time workers, dedicated volunteers and an elected Board of Management working in unity to continually seek opportunities to respond to our growing and vibrant community.
