About Sunbury Neighbourhood House
Sunbury Neighbourhood House Inc. (SNH) has been proudly supporting the Sunbury community since 1996.
SNH cemented its roots in the community under the auspice of Sunbury Community Health Centre before becoming an independent Incorporated Association in 2007 and moving to the current location on Elizabeth Drive. In 2012 SNH were successful in its registration as Registered Charity.
SNH is made up of a small team of part time workers, dedicated volunteers and an elected Board of Management working in unity to continually seek opportunities to respond to our growing and vibrant community.
SNH is diverse Neighbourhood House, providing courses, workshops, programs and social events for all the local community, encouraging lifelong learning and skill sharing through community led initiatives aimed at improving connectedness to each other and the environment.
Neighbourhood Houses are unique, there is no such thing as a typical neighbourhood house, and ours is no exception.
We exist to respond to the diverse needs of our own community, and ensure we provide a welcoming inclusive space for everyone to participate in.
Social inclusion improves wellbeing, and we aim to provide opportunities for all ages and abilities to gather and share skills, stories, friendship and events.
We are one of approximately 400 Neighbourhood Houses in Victoria, and are members of the North West Neighbourhood House Network (Hume & Moreland). We work collaboratively with Goonawarra Neighbourhood House, you will often see us together running events in Sunbury.
None of this would be possible without the generous support of DHHS and Hume City Council, plus sponsorship and welcomed donations from our community.
We highly value the contribution of our team of volunteers, who consistently provide programs, support and hospitality that make Sunbury Neighbourhood House a welcoming place.
